The basis of depravity is the sinful human heart, but there is a remedy for moral wickedness. If your faith has not been placed in the God of the universe, you are a slave to the corruption of your heart. Faith is not just a feeling, but is a tangible and necessary tool if you want to live a life of meaning, which starts with placing dependence on God. When your faith is placed in the One who created you, He changes your heart to love what He loves, which becomes the basis for the laws of a nation. The founding fathers of America understood that faith is a strong foundation to build a country upon, and that we cannot have liberty, justice, and character without the guidance of faith. We as a nation have to turn away from the selfishness, anger, and hostility that is separating us from our Father, as He is the only one who can bring true revival. May we ask God to reawaken our hearts to see and love Him, and in turn, may we have a greater sense of duty and a greater love for our neighbor. To learn more, visit kirkcameron.com To learn more about the sponsor of today’s show and what our family currently uses for our healthcare check out Christian Healthcare Ministries by visiting https://hubs.ly/Q02vWQGy0Editing and production services provided by thepodcastupload.com Learn more about your ad choices. On today's episode we welcome guest Adam Kovar, a former marine, friend of Kirk, and the founder of MYFIRESIDE pits. The two men became fast friends after Kirk stumbled upon Adam’s portable fire pit business, and they began to see similarities in their faith journeys and their hope for an American revival. Adam embodies the optimism, loyalty, and patriotism that the American Campfire Revival hopes to inspire across the country, and he believes in the importance of sharing conversation and debate around a campfire. If we don’t talk about the state of our country, then nothing will change or improve, and Adam and Kirk discuss the importance of inspiring campfires across the United States. In order to make freedom a blessing, we also need faith and character, as freedom on its own allows space for evil to infiltrate. If you are interested in joining the revival mission of Kirk and Adam, check out the resources below and start your very own campfire! To learn more about Adam or purchase your own MYFIRESIDE pit, check out myfireside.comTo learn more, visit kirkcameron.com To learn more about the sponsor of today’s show and what our family currently uses for our healthcare check out Christian Healthcare Ministries by visiting https://hubs.ly/Q02vWQGy0Editing and production services provided by thepodcastupload.com Learn more about your ad choices. Our hearts need to be continually and intentionally fixed on God, because He is the only one who can truly purify and restore. Our God sees the state of humanity's broken, sinful hearts, but He does not ask us to fix ourselves before coming to Him. King David understood the importance of having a purified heart, because it is only then that we will be able to see God the most fully. In 1 Chronicles 29:18, in a prayer David asks God to "...keep these desires and thoughts in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you" (NIV). This prayer is one that Christ followers should more often repeat, as the tendency of our hearts is not to lean towards righteousness. Only when the hearts of our nation are pure is when our civil government will be pleasing in the eyes of God and a blessing to us as citizens. Thankfully, all God asks of us is the humility to lay down our sin before Him and ask for a purified heart, and He will take care of the rest.To learn more, visit kirkcameron.com To learn more about the sponsor of today’s show and what our family currently uses for our healthcare check out Christian Healthcare Ministries by visiting https://hubs.ly/Q02vWQGy0Editing and production services provided by thepodcastupload.com Learn more about your ad choices. When we think of inspiring women in the Bible, we often think of Eve and Mary, but we can also find inspiration in a lesser known story of a woman named Jael. Jael was a fearless woman whose courage and prompt action resulted in a big victory for Israel against the Canaanites. Even though Jael didn't have to confront evil, she took it upon herself to face that evil and destroy it. Jael's story should be an example for those in the family of faith who see evil all around them and choose to put their heads down. When we respond to our God-given call of duty and walk in obedience with the Lord, then we will be blessed, just as the Israelites were blessed in victory. Our call as Christ followers is not to run and hide from evil in this world, but to engage in a spiritual battle through prayer, faithfulness, and obedience. Duty is a critically important principle for advancing the Kingdom of God, and often involves us doing things that we don't necessarily want to do. God honors those who live up to their calling and fulfill their duty, which often looks like obeying Him, loving our neighbor, and bringing heaven to earth. Duty supersedes desire, and early Americans better understood the importance and blessing of fulfilling one's duty. Today's Christ followers must also have a sense of duty, and understand that God has made us on purpose and for a purpose, and we cannot be deterred by the sacrifice that duty often asks of us. The Lord has a plan to work all things together to accomplish His goodness and purpose, and all he asks from His children is faithfulness to what He has called us to do.To learn more, visit kirkcameron.com To learn more about the sponsor of today’s show and what our family currently uses for our healthcare check out Christian Healthcare Ministries by visiting https://hubs.ly/Q02vWQGy0Editing and production services provided by thepodcastupload.com Learn more about your ad choices. The family of faith should possess the qualities of wisdom and discernment, and should be careful around the worldly evils of power and money. In our everyday lives, we deal with four different spheres of influence, from our small circle to the cosmic sphere. In our interactions with ourselves and our families, Kirk encourages listeners to "savor the small," and focus our attention on beauty of the little things. The next sphere, the medium-sized circle, consists of an individual's workplace, friends, and the happenings of their country. In this circle, we are encouraged to "make much of the medium," and answer God's calling to bring heaven to earth. Thirdly is the large sphere, which entails the worldwide happenings that we have very little to no control of. In this space, we must "let go of the large," and give it up to our sovereign and loving God. Finally, the fourth circle is the cosmic sphere, which is everything that God is doing behind the scenes. When thinking about this circle, we should "celebrate the cosmic," for it is in this circle that we are allowed to let go of our own decisions and trust that there is Someone who is in control, even when the other three spheres of our lives feel on the edge of collapse. Unfortunately, illness does not coordinate its arrival with our busy calendars. Sickness and death show up when they please, and can certainly cause even the most devout Christ follower to stumble. According to the great preacher Charles Spurgeon, “Men have been helped to live by remembering that they must die…,” but how can we possibly view death as a gift? The funeral is not the finish line for the child of God, and death is just a transition to eternity once we’ve set our faith in the Son who died to save us. Oftentimes, illness offers unexpected blessing and brings clarity to what is truly important in this earthly life. If you have been struck by sickness or death in any form, perhaps God is calling you to draw closer to Him and take account of what is defining your life. When death reaches us, may we be satisfied in the way we served and sacrificed for others in this life. May we be excited to see the face of Jesus and feel content in the ways we used our gifts to bring heaven to earth. Where does your help come from? From your city, your government, or from God? Followers of Jesus do not need to be concerned with evil in any of its forms, because we serve a God who does not slumber. His faithfulness is a foundation on which we can build our lives and trust that it will never crumble. Every form of evil is only a mysterious form of good, because for the child of God, everything we encounter is overruled for the Father’s good. Our help does not come from the government and its laws or from the strength of the country, but from something that is eternal and dependable. Kirk reminds listeners that “God in his sovereignty transforms every crushing calamity into a mysterious form of good that deepens our faith and moves us closer to him and sweetens our journey to heaven." Altthough evil may affect those who love God, we cannot be overthrown, because we stand on the promise that God will preserve us from this time forth and forevermore. The ultimate solution to America’s economic, moral, and spiritual problems is found in the Word of God. We see time and time again in Scripture that the choice of sin leads to suffering, but the path of obedience brings blessing. In order to turn America around, we must do what God asks and fulfill the mission He has given us. When the people of God, through the power of God, implement the principles of heaven, then we can have joyful expectation of the restoration of our country and ultimately of our entire world. Motivated by love for God and love for our neighbors, the family of faith has a mission to bring others to the source of joy and hope and life. As we hope for a better country and a better earth, we must pray for one another, take up positions of leadership, and lead well. The people of God, who are comprised of every nation and tongue, have a connection to the one power source who can steer us from evil, so let us take up this calling. What is the difference between conservative values and biblical values? And which of these sets of values is going to save America? Oftentimes in today’s world, the Christian community believes they are only of another world, and they don’t need to be involved in the evil that takes place on earth. Yet the Bible tells the family of faith that we must flood darkness with light, and be ambassadors of the Kingdom of heaven. Conservative politics alone cannot save the nation because freedom is dangerous for people who do not have a moral foundation. The Constitution was intended for a people with religious principle, and if human beings don’t have he power of the Holy Spirit, they will be influenced instead by their sinful nature. The restoration of our country isn’t just about the right political “recipe,” but about a transformation of the heart that will cause us to love God and love one another better.
